REBC DESIGNATION

Agents and brokers who are looking for additional training and understanding about the health reform law should consider enrolling in NAHU’s exclusive PPACA certification course. Developed by experts in both PPACA and employment law, this high-level 10-hour course will ensure that the student understands the key technical components of PPACA and is better prepared to counsel his or her clients on upcoming required healthcare changes and new options and requirements for health plans.

An overview of all regulations already issued will be presented along with details on specific regulations issued to date. The student will learn what is needed to comply with the new law as well as how the market is likely to change over the next few years and will be able to develop client specific timelines and provide advice to guide clients in planning for the future.

Complete course instruction will be delivered through NAHU’s Online Learning Institute (OLI) and followed by a final exam, which is required to obtain certification and continuing education (CE) credits.

Click here to enroll in this course or visit NAHU’s PPACA certification webpage for more information. If you have questions regarding our PPACA Certification course, please contact professionaldevelopment@nahu.org.

CAPITOL CONFERENCE AND ANNUAL CONVENTION

NAHU’s Capitol Conference is an annual meeting in Washington D.C. focused on legislation. This conference is scheduled in the beginning of the year and gives you an opportunity to learn from speakers, interact with NAHU colleagues and spend your afternoons demonstrating the strength and value of professional health insurance agents and brokers to your congressional representatives on Capitol Hill.

NAHU’s Annual Convention is held during the summer and is located in a different state each year. This convention is a business meeting where you have the opportunity to participate in professional development, interact with NAHU colleagues and learn from speakers.

If you have questions regarding our meetings, please contact meetings@nahu.org.

YOUR VOICE TO LEGISLATORS

NAHU’s legislative team stays on top of all the legislation that may affect the way you do business. With the help of our “citizen lobbyists,” NAHU has become a recognized authority on healthcare in Washington, D.C., and in state capitals coast to coast. We regularly brief Capitol Hill staffers and committees on health insurance and related issues and are frequently asked to consult on the structure and language of proposed legislation. In addition, NAHU provides written and oral testimony for congressional and administrative agency hearings.

If you have questions regarding our legislative presence, please contact legislative@nahu.org.

HELP PROTECT YOUR INDUSTRY

Our advocacy efforts don’t end with just meetings in Washington, D.C., and in your district. Our efforts to protect the role of agents and brokers in our healthcare system continue with our political action committee, HUPAC. HUPAC was created to extend our reach by financially supporting members of Congress who believe in our industry. Few other industries are as heavily regulated as health insurance. Therefore, YOUR success, and that of YOUR clients, is directly dependent upon the actions of Congress.

As a NAHU member, your contribution to HUPAC allows you to join your colleagues and friends in combining resources and strength to make a difference for your clients, our industry and, above all, our country. So will you consider becoming a HUPAC contributor today? Please visit www.hupac.org and make a difference!

If you have questions regarding HUPAC, please contact hupac@nahu.org.
